The Dance Floor

AN INVITATION TO DANCE
God invites us on to the dance floor, to play our part in His dance of redemption for the world. Dancing with God means being in step with Him, getting the harmony right. You cannot learn the dance moves, they are formed from the depths of a heart transformed by God.
The dance is not about securing our salvation, that is already secure. Dancing in harmony with God means that we can perform our unique moves alongside the other dancers, alongside God, to create a wonderful, perfectly choreographed production.
The dance is not from this world. We are dancing to the beat of a different drum. Being in harmony with God means we take His lead. We go where He goes and we do what He does. When we are in harmony with God we experience the thrill of being a part of the
party, the celebration of His redemptive plan.
There are times when we take our eyes off God and lose our rhythm. We may even battle to get back in. We may even slump at the edge of the dance floor in dejection. But suddenly Jesus seeks us out, and offers us a hand up, and we hear His invitation, “Come dance with me, after all this is my dance floor”.
To which we respond, “Oh, I give You my heart again. I'm coming back to the start, to the start. I'm coming back to You. I'm running back to Your heart, to Your heart. I'm running back to You. You'll never stop loving us. No matter how far we run You'll never give up on us. All of Heaven shouts, "Let the future begin!" I feel alive, I come alive, I am alive on God's great dance floor”. (Martin Smith: 2013).
Ezek 36:26 - I will give you a new heart and a new mind. I will take away your stubborn heart of stone and give you an obedient heart.
